We may process account details such as your name, email address, account role and sign-in information; teacher profile information; stories and other content you submit; learning goals, availability, budget preferences and messages; and requests to connect with teachers.

If you choose to use nearby-teacher search, your browser may provide your approximate or precise location. Location access is optional and only begins after you grant permission. We may also process essential technical information needed to secure and operate the service.

We use personal data to provide accounts, display educator profiles and stories, connect learners with teachers, personalize recommendations, maintain security, respond to requests and improve the service. Processing is based on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Text entered into AI matching may be sent to an AI service to interpret your goal and prepare recommendations. AI output may be inaccurate and should be reviewed. Do not enter health information, government identifiers, financial credentials or other sensitive personal data.

Please do not identify a child in a learning-goal prompt or story. Parents and guardians should describe a child's needs without names, contact details, school details or other identifying information.

We use carefully selected providers for hosting, account authentication, Google sign-in, communications, fonts and AI-assisted features. They process data only to provide their services to us and under appropriate contractual safeguards. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use an applicable legal transfer mechanism and supplementary safeguards where required.

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to maintain necessary records and to meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and account status. We apply access controls and reasonable organizational and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your data; restriction of or objection to processing; data portability; and withdrawal of consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. EduStories is not directed to children who are not legally able to consent to online services. A parent or guardian must manage any learning request involving a child.
